Man wins £8.35m compensation for brain injury in crash
Practice area: Injury
A man has been awarded one of the largest compensation settlements in UK history after sustaining a serious brain and
spinal injury in a car accident.
Lukasz Borowski won a compensation claim for £8.35 million after a vehicle in which he was a passenger lost control and careered off the road into a ditch.
The accident left the 27-year-old man with a catalogue of personal injuries which have left him wheelchair-bound and unable to return to work, as well as affecting his mood and personality.
Since the driver responsible for the incident did not have insurance, Mr Borowski's claim was paid by the Motor Insurers' Bureau, which is responsible for compensating victims of uninsured drivers.
The money will be used to fund the cost of the victim's full-time care for the rest of his life.
Last month, AA Insurance warned motorists that the recent cold weather is likely to have caused patches of black ice to appear on roads, which could leave them more susceptible to the risk of accidents.
