Sam Bishop Wins Surprise Honour

Horsford racer Sam Bishop picked up his trophy for winning the MRO Superstock 1000 Championship at the MRO/BMCRC presentation evening in Maidstone.
Bishop, 22, won the title on his Kester Cunningham John-sponsored Yamaha R1.
He also came away with an unexpected award - The Dunlop Trophy - for The Best Solo Performer in 2008. Previous winners' names inscribed on this BMCRC trophy include famous motorcycle racing icons such as Phil Read, Mick Grant and Barry Sheene.
Bishop will now do some winter testing on his R1 before deciding which championship to contest in 2009.
