KCJ makes great strides in 2009 Chambers rankings

Kester Cunningham John (KCJ) continues to make great strides in the 'Chambers & Partners' rankings; market observers credit the firm as having "moved forward at an impressively quick rate" in recent years and as being "widely perceived to be East Anglia's most ambitious firm".
The firm has improved its rankings in 5 practice areas with an increase in recognised experts from 8 to 14. The Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury teams are ranked in the top tier for the 12th year running, with the CN team commended for its "…exceptional service" and acknowledged as having "... a deserved reputation in the field and numerous impressive victories under its belt."
The Real Estate team re-enforces its significant local reputation by being credited for its "simply superb service" and "timely, rational and cogent advice".
In Banking and Finance, guide editors highlight the firm's ability to create strong relationships, achieved through "a deep understanding of clients' businesses and the efforts the team makes to go the extra mile."
The Corporate Finance team, led by Edward O'Rourke are referred to as a "diligent, helpful team, for which nothing is too much trouble".
Dispute Resolution Partner Christopher Gilbert impresses clients with his "finely nuanced understanding of a complicated commercial relationship, really balanced advice and ability to instil confidence." Sources agree that "you feel you can rely on him completely."
Bob McGeady heads a Planning team which is always up to speed with developments in planning law, and is known for its "fast, knowledgeable and friendly" service, with lawyers who are "constantly at hand" to provide assistance whenever it is needed.
The firms "thriving employment practice" was also acknowledged and the Insolvency team which is ranked in the second tier this year is "well reputed for its local work" and "significant matters for many large companies".
Head of Family, Fiona Bethel "never puts a foot wrong," note interviewees, who also praise her "brilliant judgement when faced with the most difficult cases."
KCJ's excellent reputation in East Anglia extends to "its strong, experienced private client practice", with Partner and Chartered Tax Adviser, Robert Chalmers, gaining a specific mention.
